Devastating Tornadoes Hit the Southeast United States

IOCC prays for those impacted by recent storms in Georgia, Mississippi and Florida, where an estimated 20 people were killed following winter tornadoes. In addition to the loss of human life, thousands of homes were destroyed or damaged, trees downed, and infrastructure compromised.

IOCC is in contact with its Orthodox, ecumenical and other disaster response partners on the ground to assess the current needs in the affected states and evaluate an appropriate response. The IOCC Frontline, a volunteer network of highly trained, credentialed and experienced Orthodox clergy and laity who respond to man-made and natural disasters in the United States, has also been activated.
