“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to gather with friends and family and remember everything we have to be thankful for.

At IOCC, we're grateful for supporters like you and the hope you offer to others. Here's just one example. Stay tuned throughout November for stories we're thankful you've played a part in.

I first met Thodoris on his family's farm in northern Greece, where he started working (in addition to his IT job) once his father became too ill to farm. The family grew traditional varieties of beans, including kidney beans and black-eyed peas, but the farming conditions were less than ideal.

When the Greek economy crashed, Thodoris began farming full time. He knew that by working together, and with the right equipment, farmers in the community could do better. So he formed a cooperative with 17 other farmers and applied for an IOCC grant.

Gifts like yours covered the cost of training and new equipment for the co-op. The farmers can now package their harvest in smaller quantities and sell directly to consumers.

“We had no hope that someone would help us; even the government forgets us, and then IOCC came. The important thing was that someone recognized that we need something so simple and realistic. We wouldn't exist without this support.”

Thank you for offering Thodoris--and others like him worldwide--renewed hope.
