IOCC’s Updated Response to Florence

Hurricane Florence is gone, but the work of response and recovery is just beginning.

IOCC is on the ground in North Carolina:

  • IOCC Frontliners have deployed to a Red Cross shelter in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where they’re providing emotional and spiritual care to residents and emergency workers.
  • An IOCC emergency response vehicle has arrived in Wilmington, where the parish of St. Basil the Great Orthodox Church will serve as a base for emergency action teams in the coming days.
  • Trained team leaders will conduct rapid needs assessments and guide volunteers as they do muck outs, clearing water-damaged homes of sludge and removing debris for Wilmington residents.

A gift to IOCC’s Hurricane Response Fund helps address immediate needs following a hurricane and supports long-term recovery efforts.
