How IOCC is helping in Bosnia-Herzegovina:
For many years after the Bosnian War, Ana's parents had a hard time finding jobs to support the family. In 2004, IOCC helped her father with a small loan of $4,000 to build a bakery and buy equipment. Now Ana, 9, comes home from school every day to the smell of baking bread and cinnamon rolls coming out of the bakery ovens. Three workers help her father run the busy bakery. The money he borrowed and paid back came from IOCC’s microcredit program that helps people in Bosnia start small businesses to support their families and create new jobs for other families. The program has helped create more than 8,000 jobs since 2002.
Lighthouse in a Bottle
Turn a plastic water bottle into a decorative lighthouse just the thing to brighten up a rainy summer day. When you finish, think of how you can become like a lighthouse to brighten someone’s dark day, just like the kids are doing at Project Lighthouse in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
How you can help:
1) Pray for the children of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and their families.
2) Pack a school kit for children in need. Learn more.
3) Ask an adult to send a special donation on your behalf to help provide food, shelter and clothing for people served by IOCC.
