VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
 | After completing a Masters in Theology at Holy Cross Seminary in Boston, Karim Bishay volunteered at IOCC this summer.
“I wanted to help IOCC put the commandments to love and serve those in need into practice ... I learned about the workings of a nonprofit and saw how much heart and brain has to go into an operation like IOCC and some of the real sacrifices people make for those in need.”
This fall, Karim will start his first year at Boston University to get his MBA in Non Profit Management. Karim hopes to work with the Coptic Church in starting an Orthodox home helping those in need – homeless, elderly, pregnant teens, drug addicts, etc.

Pilot Agricultural Business
Local farmers are now learning to raise grass-fed cattle through an Agricultural Demonstration Farm that was initiated in late 2007 with the Georgian Orthodox Church and the University of Maryland. IOCC is also providing a separate cash grant to the agri-business division of the Patriarchate of Georgia for the processing and sale of cattle feed. | | |
