Houston, TX Middle East Relief Night
Sunday, September 24, 2006
Nearly 200 people gathered in Houston at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Sept. 24 to raise money for IOCC's work in Lebanon following the recent violence that has gripped the country. Sponsored by St. George Antiochian Church, the attendees from Orthodox parishes in the Greater Houston area were apprised of IOCC's Lebanon response by IOCC Development Director, Daniel Christopulos. Although the annual IOCC dinner had already taken place earlier in the year, this added event rallied young and old alike to support those who are suffering in Lebanon. Two highlights of the evening were a special gift presented to IOCC by Anastasia Zavitsanos, a youngster who decided to have a bake sale to support IOCC's work, and the dedicated waitering and waitressing performed by the St. George SOYO group.
